Here is a patent search tool launched recently called Patent Monkey, which is partly started by Paul Graham, a former examiner of USPTO.

Peter Zura's 271 Patent Blog introduced this tool yesterday and indicated the features of the monkey as follows:

  • Fully searchable US patent text database
  • Front page navigation with user-selectable Claims, Abstract or Description section in quick view window
  • Patent status is presented on each patent page so you know which ones are abandoned and expired
  • Create, save and share lists of patents (folders) with your colleagues via the web as well as on blogs
  • Download any single patent PDF for free or bulk download PDFs from a folder as a time saving upgrade

However, the monkey differs form other boring patent search or download tools such as USPTO searching or PAT2PDF and is present in unusual purple. But I think people will care about the functions more than the modules. The advance search function is not working yet, so I am looking forward it and how the monkey contends with the google patents.
